It's the little things that lead to massive accomplishments later in life. Whenever we start a new year, we all have plenty of resolutions regarding health, diet, and lifestyle. We all want to eat right, exercise every day, and learn new habits this year.
But we may have that excitement, maybe initially for a week or for a month, but later we slowly stop doing it because of a lack of motivation or laziness.
Being a projector, it was even more difficult for me to stick to a habit because I don't have the energy to follow it every day. Sometimes I even forget about it because of other priorities.
This is when I understood a concept called "showing up."
Why Showing Up Makes You Confident of Achieving Success
As the name suggests, showing up consistently every day for a particular thing is the trick behind achieving something, whether it's doing a task, pursuing a goal, or even becoming an entrepreneur.
This helps you learn the art of disciplining yourself. Without discipline, it is nearly impossible to do anything in life.
5 ways to reward yourself for showing up
Figure out the things that you must do, and every time you do that task, you can reward yourself in the following ways:
· Give a pat on your back for showing up to the gym, music class, or even your workplace.
· Cook your favorite meal at the end of the day for completing your task and to-do lists as a token of appreciation for showing up for all these priorities.
· Buy your favorite snack to treat yourself at the end of the day.
· You can even journal and mark the date with a small note for accomplishing the task. After a period of consistency, you can even use these as brownie points to buy your favorite stationery items every month.
· A simple gratitude affirmation at the end of the day can also motivate you to consistently show up for important tasks. You can write a small gratitude quote on a sticky note and put it in a reward jar; the more you collect, the more you can reward yourself.
